My Girls....What are they up to Now???

I wanted to do a little update on the girls. Mae is getting SO big! I haven't been keeping very good track, but here are some stats on the little thing:

MAE:

-She weighed a little over 16 lbs at her last apt (back in September) and was in the 75th percentile for height.

-She doesn't have any teeth yet (chloe had two bottoms by now), and her hair isn't nearly long as Chloe's was at this age either.

-She has been sitting up on her own for a while now, and doesn't crawl, but scoots backwards (for about 1 minute until she starts fussing)

-Despite not being able to crawl, she has an amazing reach and ability to get into things she should not and knock things over, etc...

-She LOVES peekaboo... specifically putting the blanket over her own head and pulling it off.

-She loves food. REAL food, not that baby mushy stuff. She uses her chubby little pincher fingers to pick it up off her tray. I love it.

-She says "Da Da" when she is happy and "Ma Ma" when she is fussy. Go figure.

-She loves her big sister and always looks for her. She is starting to get more picky about how much she will let Chloe touch/poke/bother her. She has a little temper.

-Proof of that temper is that just recently she has started throwing fits when something is taken away from her, or she can't figure something out.

-She is more of a momma's girl than Chloe, and has had some stranger/separation anxiety but is doing better.

-She will be 8 months old this Friday!

-She is mostly sleeping through the night. Unless she is sick like right now and then her and I hang out a lot and get very little sleep.

-She is a HAPPY and GOOD baby. A lot like Chloe was. She just sits and plays and babbles all day giving off those deep dimpled grins. We love her so much and wish you could all see her more often!

CHLOE:

-Chloe's biggest success is that she is going on the POTTY! It was a decision she came to all on her own one random day and it mainly had to do with wearing the big girl panties. She currently only goes "number one" in the potty, and asks for a diaper for the other. Someday.

-"I'm Bertiful" is one of Chloe's favorite sayings as of late. Sadly, she is starting to pronounce "beautiful" more correctly which is proof of just how grown up she is!

-She is doing preschool once a week and we take a turn teaching at our house once in a while too. She loves it, even though she is a little on the young side.

-She loves her little sister and if she ever hears her crying or upset she always tries to soothe her "it's okay Mae. I'm right here Mae."

-I must have reminded her that I am the "mother" lately because this is another new saying. With hands on hips and a stern look she says, "I'm your Mother!" This is usually when she is arguing with me, or just bossing Peter around. Such attitude. It's cute at 2, but it probably won't be at 16.

-She carried her little boom box into the living room the other day, plugged it in, and started singing using my lint roller as a microphone. She made me sit and watch and then told me to get the camera. It was hilarious. She is such a performer, although she can be shy in big groups.

-She is very sweet, and when I get on my little rampages, raising my voice a little too high and using too stern a tone (imagine me doing that... hmm) she will often reprimand me. "Mom that's too loud." or something like it.

-We love her so much too, and having two little girls is such a joy and headache all in one big package! But anything that is ever worth having or doing is hard, including kids. When all is said and done, they are worth it and I wouldn't have it any other way.
