Roomies Reunite!

Have you ever heard of allegiant airlines? Did you know they have tickets for as cheap as $26.99 one way? Look it up! (FYI: they only fly into few and small airports)
After discovering this airline and that it flies directly into Idaho Falls, ID I found an offer I just couldn’t pass up. A long weekend with my sister and old roommates for just $54! (okay it was more than that with taxes, but still amazing).

So, the weekend before Halloween I lined up some babysitting gave my dear husband a kiss goodbye (he was such a good sport about me going alone) and headed to my homeland (well state, at least).

Words cannot express the wonderful time I had. I knew it would be great to get away by myself for a weekend and see some of my closest friends and old roommates, some who I haven’t seen in a long time. But this trip surpassed my expectations. It was incredible and I hope I can do it again next year (or month, or week for that matter :)

We did what girl roommates do… talked (and talked and talked…) ate food, painted our toenails, took a tour of our old stomping grounds, and even did some singing and dancing (I tried Zumba for the first time too… so fun).

I don’t have pictures, but I also got to see a dear friend from Nauvoo and his family (love you guys!) and again, it had been so long since I had seen them… I loved catching up and seeing their beautiful home and kids. I am SO lucky to have such amazing people in my life.

It was refreshing in every sense of the word. I got emotional a few times while I was there because I realized just how blessed I’ve been in my life with people and experiences. I love so many people, have been loved by so many people, and have had and continue to have an incredible life full of joy and light and love. See why everyone needs a trip like this? I highly recommend it.

Although I was sad to leave, I was ready to see Peter and the girls. I missed them. It was great to reminisce on the old days of single roommate life, but nothing compares to coming home to your very own family. That relationship is so very intimate and special, and I am so blessed to share it with a wonderful husband and children who put up with me, weaknesses and all. I love you three xoxoxo
