Sunshine for the New Year in Palm Springs

A couple days after we got back from the snow, we headed to southern California to the sunshine and palm trees! We got to see Peter’s entire immediate family, along with Grandma Sue and Grandpa Norm Fjeldsted which was a treat! Peter’s sister and her family live back East so we don’t get to see them very often at all. Chloe really loved getting to know her cousins Luke, Zachary and Elizabeth. I think Zachary was Chloe’s favorite. She followed him around everywhere and they are both little busy bodies! It was BEAUTIFUL weather, of course, and we were spoiled and got to stay in an extremely nice resort. We ate great food and played games there too, but we got to go swimming along with it! We had an off-roading adventure (Chloe didn’t like that much so we skipped out that time), and went to a living zoo which was really impressive. I also got my haircut by the same lady who cut it two years ago on our honeymoon and she did a great job. We had a really good time, and wished we could have stayed another week rather than jump back into life again.

We cannot thank both families enough for their love and generosity. We recognize that the holidays can be very hard and lonely times for a lot of people, and the failing economy has been no help I am sure. We felt very grateful this year to be blessed with so much, and most especially our families and the gospel. We look forward to the challenges and triumphs ahead in this New Year. Bring it on!
