Now that we are back from traveling and getting settled into real life, we have some other things to update on. First, I am starting school part time next week at a community college nearby. Right now I am signed up for 9 credits—two night classes and one via TV. I am working towards my bachelor’s degree, and I just love to learn! I will update with more details later after I’ve started classes and know for sure the schedule I will be having. I feel very blessed and excited for this new opportunity!
As far as with Peter and work, he has been discovering over time what he would like to do within the career of Prosthetics. After his own research and the small amount of experience he has thus far, he has become really intrigued with the possibility of working within the VA. There are about 60 VA hospitals in the USA that have prosthetics within them, and of course they are all located in very large cities. Currently, Peter is trying, and hoping, to transfer his residency over to a VA hospital since they are more likely to hire you if you have done a residency for them. There are some obvious pros working for the government, and it seems like a secure opportunity in a time of economical unrest. I imagine there are some cons too, but we will deal with those as they come as most jobs do have their up and down sides. For now, we feel very grateful that Peter has had the experiences he has had, and has been blessed with a great talent in the work field he has chosen. He really loves what he does everyday and gets a lot of gratification helping other people. I am VERY proud of him and all the hard work he does for our family everyday.
