Our darling little girl is officialy crawling and doing all of the adventurous things that go along with it--Pulling herself up on furniture, finding every cord in the house, picking up leftover lunch off the floor. In one day my job as a Mother got significantly harder trying to keep up with a vivacious 8 1/2 month old who has a knack for getting into trouble (why is a computer cord so much more interesting than a colorful musical toy)? Despite the new challenges, I can honestly say I am thrilled to see her growing and expanding in body, mind and spirit. Just when I think I couldn't possibly love her more I do; and just when I think being a Mother couldn't possibly get any better it does.
I couldn't be happier.
Continue reading if you want to hear Chloe's "first real crawling" story:
So Chloe was getting up on all fours and doing many pre-crawling techniques. But no toy or object ever seemed to entice her enough to crawl to it. Then one night I was back in the bedroom and Chloe and Peter were in the living room. Peter came back to talk to me, leaving Chloe happily amidst her toys. Within two minutes I heard Chloe's babbles and they sounded much closer than from the living room. Then I could hear her giggle and it sounded even closer. The next thing I knew we could see her in the hallway. We both got so excited because she was on all fours crawling towards us. We encouraged her to come to us and it was the cutest thing in the world. Every inch closer she got the more she giggled. She was so pleased with herself for finding Mom and Dad. Right when she got to the bedroom door she turned and booked it over to the bathroom. That really set us laughing. She is so full of life. I will post pictures soon. I currently can't find my camera battery charger.
