New Leaf
Seasons slowly change
Spring… Summer… Fall
Life buds. Blooms. Fades. Dies
As winter comes to call
Anxiously the faithful leaves
Depart their cherished home
Drifting down to lower ground
A whole new world to roam
Autumn breathes its final breath
As winter takes her place
Sweeping over tree and flower
Filling every space
She comes upon a fragile leaf
Wilted, weak and cold
Clinging fiercely to its home
Refusing to lose hold
Winter gently coaxes
As she blows an icy breeze
Yet grasping even tighter
It won’t give up with ease
More persistent still
Winter brings her rain and snow
Though weighed down and wilting
The leaf will not let go
Winters end is drawing near
She gives a final try
Freezing ground, air and life
The leaf will surely die
Frozen, tired, losing grip
Discouraged and alone
The leaf gives everything that’s left
And holds onto its home
As surely as the winter comes
It has to have an end
Giving way to springs great warmth
The leafs most trusted friend
As the light of dawn appears
The leaf reflects its glow
And having overcome all things
It finally lets go

AMBER! This is the one isn't it!!!! WOW, I cannot believe that I actually got to witness the birth of this masterpiece! You are amazing. I actually doubted that you would carry through with the challenge (way to prove me wrong:)) I am honorably impressed Amber. Thank you for seeing it through.
